King Edward Street and High Street tenement, Perth We appointed Cademuir Building Consultants Ltd to manage the restoration of this four-storey, multi-property, tenement in the heart of Perth's pedestrianised zone early in 2024. It was clear from the outset that Cademuir's approach to identifying and rectifying the problems that each of the properties had experienced over many years would be systematic, hands-on, realistic and flexible. Two interconnected sets of problems existed - chimney, roofing, masonry and leadwork issues that could be put down to the building's age, and another set caused by long-term neglect of the complicated and largely hidden rainwater management system which had been frequently altered and added to over the building's 120-year history. Throughout the ten-month project, in which many unforeseen issues arose, Craig dealt with the complex and potentially conflicting demands of building contractors, listed building consent bodies, Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust, Perth and Kinross Council, adjoining properties, and the diverse needs of the tenement's owners with consummate professionalism. Moreover, he has kept us fully informed throughout, listened to the opinions and suggestions of those living and working within the tenement, monitored progress rigorously and brought the project through to its conclusion under budget. We are unanimous in the view that, were we to repeat the whole project, we would have no hesitation in appointing Cademuir Building Consultants Ltd again.

Craig project managed a significant refurbishment to our home. He was fantastic to work with - a good communicator, easy to get hold of, extremely knowledgeable, organised, punctual, a problem solver and friendly. He took the project to tender, did drawings for the builders, and saw the project through to completion, and then snagging one year on. We would be delighted to recommend his services, and would certainly use him again in the future should we have any other projects.

Cademuir provided a 5-star RICS level 3 building survey for a property I am looking to purchase. The quote was higher than the others, but I went with Cademuir because of the promptness of the reply to my enquiry and the quick turnaround promised (and the old adage that you get what you pay for). Not really knowing how this survey might compare to one provided by another surveyor, I can only say that the level of detail was very high and the survey answered all of my questions about the property. From the specificity in the report, it is obvious that the surveyor took his time, and there were not vague or generic sections. Two tradesmen that I consulted for quotes on repairs also complimented the work, so that implies that it stands out to what they normally see. Recommended!
