Building Pathology

Condition Surveys and PPMs

CBC’s Condition Surveys of individual buildings or whole portfolios provide an instant assessment of general condition whilst identifying immediate wants of repair or statutory breaches and informing future revenue and capital expenditure requirements. More commonly provided for commercial and public sector clients, these are equally beneficial for all client types.

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys and reports establish a clear scope of building maintenance requirements, usually over a five-year period. CBC’s surveys appraise the condition of buildings and client’s requirements to develop a maintenance regime that economically keeps the building in a permanent state of good repair and occupational condition. PPMs allow for greater budgetary control and retain the value of the building asset whilst avoiding more costly reactionary repairs. PPMs are an essential part of comprehensive estate management.
